Do You Have That "Vision Thing" Working?

You have likely heard the story about the iceberg. As it floats in the ocean, roughly 10% (the
part we see) is above the waterline and 90% is below the surface. This is a fairly good picture of how most of
us live. We are conscious about our
choices about 10% of the time and out of touch with what we are creating for
our lives for most of our lives. We get stuck in thoughts and “don’t understand
why” because we have not learned to surface those self-limiting beliefs or
better yet…we have not learned how to drive the waterline down. Why not
live 90% aware?
Driving the waterline down is about learning to live on purpose, to live deliberately. It is about identifying roadblocks to the life or business we want to create and intentionally overcoming. Additionally, it is the progressive practice of identifying what fires us up, connecting powerfully to these passions and increasingly clearing the obstacles on the way to success. What would life be like if every day we had fewer obstructions in our pathway to attaining what we truly desire? This is what I call a “natural path” to abundant living. Clear the road and the journey is “easier”. This being said, there is another variable to this equation.
Limited Vision?
Remove the barriers..check. Now, add your unique vision to refresh your life’s adventure. What is your dream? Is it small, limited or uninspiring? More than a traditional goal a true vision is:
· Compelling to the point that it requires little explanation. It gets you “pumped up”.
· Uncomfortable. It requires a “whatever it takes” attitude and heroic effort.
· Big and bold.
· Always in alignment with your values
What is a a vision? Here is a quick and reasonably standard definition for reference sake. A vision is "the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be". Am I anticipating something that will rock my world or am I suffering from limited vision?
Test your vision with these questions…
· Do you find it stimulating?
· Does it move you forward?
· Do you feel the momentum?
· Is it exciting?
